Open Style Lab Parsons Thesis

Open Style Lab at Parsons School of Design is looking for 4 adventurous fashionistas with disabilities to work with students to create wearable solutions that are both beautiful and functional. See course description and details here.

NYC Spinal has been proud to sponsor the 2017 and 2018 Open Style Lab Summer sessions at Parsons. Several of our members have also enjoyed being clients (see video above). If you love fashion and new challenges, this is a project you want to get involved with.

MENTORS (4)

**Includes a $1,000 stipend

A year-long commitment for a few hours on Wednesdays and possible Friday (it’s flexible):
Participants with SCI/D must commit to meeting 1-2 hours with students bi-weekly (Times are flexible for Wednesday/ Fridays to mentor, consult, and advise on making student fashion design project more inclusive and/or accessible. 

GUEST SPEAKERS (4)

**Includes Honorarium – Usually $100/ hour

Invited speakers will be asked to provide a 1-time lecture that is relevant to fashion senior students who are all working on design projects related to health, disability, aging, or well-being. This can be a person with a disability who has their own design company, startup, advocacy, a career in education and anything related to sharing his / her specialty and perspective about inclusion.
