Rebuilding Lives After Spinal Cord Injury

Our mission is to help people with spinal cord injuries and disease maximize their independence and quality of life.

As the New York City Chapter of United Spinal Association, we are part of a nationwide network of over 100,000 wheelchair users, 50+ chapters, 180+ support groups, and 100+ rehabs and hospital partners – including 10 distinguished Spinal Cord Injury Model System Centers that support innovative projects and research in the field of SCI.

Founded in 2003 to provide peer support and social connection for people with spinal cord injuries, our programs and outreach have expanded. Today our 600+ members serve the community by sharing knowledge, promoting SCI awareness and injury prevention, advocating for disability rights and providing financial assistance and emotional support to survivors of spinal cord injury and their families. Free membership is open to all adults, 18 years or older, and includes membership with our national parent organization United Spinal. Learn more
